UNATT Hosts Forum to Commemorate International Youth Day.

On Saturday 20 August, UNATT hosted a Youth Forum, in commemoration of UN International Youth Day.

Theme of the event was "Youth in a Violent Society: Coping Mechanisms".

It was held at NALIS, Abercromby Street, Port of Spain.

UNATT President, Elton Prescott, SC welcomed participants and introduced the panellists: Mr Stephan Ottley, Ms Hanna Niamath; Mrs Joy Brathwaite, Mr Wayne Chance and Ms Trudy John.

Participating youths represented secondary and tertiary level schools, police youth clubs, community groups and protective services.

The break-out sessions produced lively discussions on: Domestic Violence and the Abuse of Children; Bullying in Schools; Impact of Social Media on Crime; and Drug Trafficking.

The objective was to identify coping mechanisms and give the Youth a voice to implement change.
